GAC was established in 1903 in Portland, Oregon. It was founded as a small, family-owned printing business, and now after more than 100 years, is recognized as one of the premier-quality commercial printers in North America. At GAC printing is only a part of what we do - our primary business is to service our customers' needs for printed marketing and communication materials. As a result our focus is on more than just applying ink to paper. We are constantly working toward self-improvement on every front - from our services and processes to our equipment and environmental accountability. While equipment continues to automate more of the printing process, the expertise of this craft is what distinguishes GAC. There are GAC employees who have been in our pre-press department and pressroom for over 30 years. In fact, the average tenure of our employees is 15 years. Without this experience the presses would run, but it wouldn't be to the quality and service level that our customers have come to expect from us. We take pride in being one of the first printing companies on the West Coast to be awarded the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) chain-of-custody certification. This certification allows GAC customers to verify that paper used in commercial web and sheet-fed printing projects originates from well managed forests. Our goal at Graphic Arts Center is to exceed our customers' expectations while making their printing experience easy and enjoyable.
